Before we started producing documentary films, we were in a very unique position to be able to film intimate conversations with more than 100 world-leading researchers, including 3 Nobel Laureates, across a wide spectrum of disciplines (see list HERE).
Taking advantage of his academic background and research experience, host Howard Burton carefully prepared for each conversation to be able to capture behind-the-scenes insights into the fascinating world of research while getting a sense of the inspirations and personal journeys behind the research.
“… top experts in their fields talking in a relaxed and informal way about a remarkable range of scholarly subjects, but is not the sort of thing usually put in print in more formal settings...” — Anthony Leggett, Nobel Laureate in Physics
The filmed conversations were on average between 1 1/2 and 3 hours long. From this large bank of raw content, we’ve produced more than 1,000 carefully-edited, award-winning educational videos in different innovative formats:
- short clips highlighting key concepts and ideas;
- documentary-style compilation videos providing different expert perspectives;
- one-hour videos broken into chapters.
Most videos come with a short voice-over introduction and are accompanied by a range of print resources. All educational videos are part of Ideas Roadshow’s award-winning digital resource platforms (see HERE) and a selection can also be licensed through your library from Kanopy, ProQuest, Infobase, ClickView and Odilo.

NEW: you can now license a large collection of Ideas Roadshow videos from Boclips!
