Conversations Worth Watching (and Reading)

Click below to find out who participated in Ideas Roadshow conversations or browse the details below on this page.

We started Ideas Roadshow in 2012 by hosting and filming intimate conversations with over 100 world-leading researchers across the arts and sciences.

All conversations were hosted by Howard Burton and filmed by a professional crew.

VIDEOS OF THE CONVERSATIONS

The filmed conversations were on average between 1 1/2 and 3 hours long. The resulting videos, typically an hour or so in length (although some are longer), start with a brief introduction and have been carefully edited into chapters to most clearly follow the flow of ideas under discussion.

Those videos provide a unique and fully accessible window into frontline academic research while revealing the inspirations and personal journeys behind the research.

BOOKS OF THE CONVERSATIONS

The unabridged conversations have been reformatted as electronic books, complete with an introductory essay and questions for discussion at the end of each chapter, while we also offer collection books of five related conversations in both electronic and paperback/hardcover formats.

The books are available through all major bookshops and online stores. For educational use, the books are available through our partner JSTOR, and other educational distributors including ProQuest, EBSCO, Baker &Taylor and Overdrive. Feel free to contact us through the contact form for more information.
